Continuing with our list of  “10 Things to do in the Great Smoky Mountains this Spring,” is #8 – Visit the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Trail.

Home to the largest group of independent artisans in North America, the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Community Trail is an 8-mile loop just outside of Gatlinburg that features an amazing variety of talented artists and craftsmen.

Spring is a perfect time to take a leisurely drive on the trail and explore the many shops and galleries you’ll discover along the way.  Whether it’s painters, potters, candle makers, woodcarvers, etc. you’re sure to find something that suits your taste or makes a perfect Smoky Mountain gift for someone special.

The trail  is located only 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg. Just turn at traffic light #3 in Gatlinburg on Hwy 321N and watch for the signs at Glades and Buckhorn Roads.  If you wish you can even tour the community on the Arts & Crafts Trolley which offers frequent stops along the way.

For more information on the artists and craftsmen located in the community visit their official website at:  http://www.gatlinburgcrafts.com/
