Newfound Gap Road Re-Opens to Traffic

Newfound Gap Road (Hwy 441) has been re-opened to traffic. At 10:00 am on April 15 Great Smoky Mountains National Park officials opened the heavily traveled road that connects Cherokee, NC and Gatlinburg, TN. The road had been closed ever since the massive landslide on January 16 that destroyed roughly 200 feet of the road.
