Great Smoky Mtns. Boasts an Incredible Array of Plant & Wildlife

More species of plants are present in the Great Smokies than anywhere else in North America. There are over 1,500 Black Bear cub in the Great Smokiesspecies of of flowering plants and fungi and 130 species of trees (almost as much as in all of Europe).

Meanwhile over 60 species of mammals, close to 70 species of fish and around 80 varieties of reptiles and amphibians call the Smokies home.

The most famous inhabitant is of course the Black Bear and it’s estimated that roughly 1,500 bears live in the park.

No matter how you look at it the Smokies is a rare American treasure.
